The Wife's Note: First Thing's First

Sometimes in this Christian walk we come too a place where we feel that we are empty and not at all where God wants us. I know we do because i myself have been there and i am sure a lot of you have. I think back to when i first got saved...i was so on fire for God. I wanted to do anything i could for him. I had a desire to just be with Him and only him whether that be in prayer, reading, just driving down the road, or anywhere. But I have realized that this flesh will try all it can to distract you from Him. I guess about a year after i got saved it seemed it was so hard for me to read or pray. I seemed like i was always busy with school or work and by the time i got home i was worn out all i wanted to do was sleep. And i thought  “well it is just all this stuff going on, I’m in college and i work but once i get settled everything will be alright.” Well.. i will tell you this...i am through with college and i do not work a secular job anymore yet i still struggle with reading and praying. I still feel like i am busy a lot and sometimes i am but like my husband tells me “there is no time wasted when you stop to pray.” I know your life may seem hectic or maybe you feel disappointed in yourself. And feel so far from God , even though you feel you still have that desire in your heart to do whatever he would have you to do. Sometimes we have to just stop and say “No everything else can wait, God comes first.” When satan tries to distract you with everything else going on in your life. Just try to slow down and put first things first. And the very first and most important thing in your life is God. Satan hates that you are saved and he hates what God is going to do in your life. Don’t let him defeat you! You are victorious through Christ! Don’t let him make you think otherwise! He has no power over Christ that is within you! You are a child of God! So remember God loves you and he longs for that intimate time in prayer. He longs for you to read his word and spend time with Him. Don’t sit around and wait for it to just get better...Today come out of that disappointed state. Spend time with God today and everyday. Ask Him to help you, my friend he longs to do so.
