The Blood Bought Way
The blood of Jesus is the only thing that can save us. This sounds like a statement that is almost too simple, but there are many of us who don’t realize the power in the blood.
I was at a church the other day where somebody told us of a pastor in a near by church that had said, “two thousand year old blood couldn’t save anyone.” Beloved, what a shaking statement for a fool to make. There is a doctrine that does away with the applying the blood of Jesus to the sin sick soul, and they believe that before you are saved you have to pray through to the Holy Ghost. Dear ones, the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the last work of the born again experience, but you must start with the blood of Christ first. I don’t care how much you speak in tongues, if there is no blood of Christ supernaturally applied to your life first, you are as damned as the Muslim, Catholic or the Hindu. If there is no blood first it is not Christianity but an occult. It cannot work any other way. Hebrews 9:22, “…Without the shedding of blood there is NO remission.” That word “remission” simply means “to lay aside, to put off, to release from the guilt or penalty of, to give relief from…” Simply put, without the blood of Christ there is no Salvation whatsoever.
Let us truly understand the power of the blood. We must not discount the blood that was shed for you and I, and the whole world alike. If you ever have a problem understanding the power and necessity of the blood that Christ had to shed for us, then read the book of Hebrews. To keep these devotions somewhat short in length I believe that tomorrow we will hear more about this precious blood. Just thank God for the blood bought way! Thank Him for allowing His Son to become that Great High Priest and the Lamb that was slain.
