What's In Your Heart

In Exodus 13 we read where God fulfills a wonderful promise he had made to His children. This promise… moving out of Egypt for good. Exodus 13:18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

The time of celebration had came. The children of Israel was moving out of their land of torment and shame. They was heading toward that promised city!! The land of pure life. But all throughout the paths of the chosen people, they grumbled and complained. They was never satisfied with how God done it. They had been so use to the land of Egypt, that they complained constantly. I often wondered to myself “why did they complain so much? God was moving. They knew He had it all under control! Why was they so difficult to God.” As I thought more, one thing I gathered was this… they was taken out of Egypt… but they never took Egypt out of themselves. See they still lived under that old taskmasters law. They wanted the food in Egypt. The shelter of Egypt. The promise didn’t mean that much to them anymore! Why? Because they still had Egypt living in them. It was in their heart!!

We today, as born again believers… saved from this spiritual Egypt called flesh have a call to leave Egypt, and to leave it all behind. Don’t have Egypt in our hearts and life. We must stop being carnal!! For when Christ returns… what’s in our heart...will matter most!! Ask yourself today… “since I have become born again, saved from this spiritual Egypt… have I left it all behind? Is there any old fleshly things from Egypt still in me? What’s in my heart?!”
