Psalm 23:1, The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Most of you know the great 23 psalm by heart. I have seen many quote it just as if they knew if like the back of their hand. But many times the truth of this whole chapter is missed, because we speed over the most important verse of the chapter. Verse one is what makes the chapter dear to our hearts. For before we can ever become the sheep that receives all the blessings of the 23 psalm, we must first realize that we must have a Shepherd to guide us into those blessings. And we also must realize who that Shepherd is. Now we know that the Lord is that Great Shepherd. He is the one that will lead us, His sheep, into the promises.
I don’t really want to write about all that He is, as the Great Shepherd. I just want to remind us of what we must learn to do in this coming times ahead. I truly believe that ever verse of the 23 psalm, is a indirect promise for us to hold close to us. But we must first come to where we fully trust the Shepherd.
When King David wrote this first verse, he was speaking as someone that had given total control to the Shepherd. He realized that the Lord, his God, his Strong Tower, his Absolute Everything… was the Shepherd of his life. And he understood, that God requires total trust from His Sheep. Although coming to this place isn’t a easy task, I just wanted to remind you again today, beloved, we must fully trust our Shepherd. We must be as the sheep that worry not for their next meal, nor for where they will rest at the days end. We must come to the place, where we totally say, “Lord… wherever you take me… however you choose to get me there… whenever you decide to bring me there… I will trust you. If we go to the darkest areas, I will trust you. Though you may lead me to the deepest waters, I will trust you! Though the literal world may collapse around me… I will trust you. For you, O Lord my God, are the Leader of my life. You are the Great Shepherd… and because of this I will rest. For I know you will not lead me anywhere to hurt me, and so I am trusting you fully, and for this trust… you will cause me to not want.”
Beloved, learn to trust the Shepherd with all you heart. For when we totally surrender ourselves to Him, we learn that our souls will not want.

Hi Buddy!
I LOVE Psalm 23.
I would write a comment but I don't know if you'd publish it.... I just would like to say, that, when we come to a place of not "wanting" anything, but simply being content in who we are, what we have, where we are... we find peace and like King David also said "In thy presence is fullness of joy"... the only thing that will ever satisfy us is the LORD. HE is ever with us... let's acknowledge Him more.. and let Him lead us to that perfect place! Amen?!
