Stop Giving Pennies

As I was speaking with a great friend on the phone yesterday, we began to converse over the tragedy of this new watered down gospel that has come to posses the majority of our Church today. While we was upon this topic, God brought this following truth into my heart and spirit.

We have somehow allowed the seeker friendly message to grasp us, the Church of America, so greatly today that, we have literally given ourselves over to the methods of the world, to gain the world. Hear me now. For some reason, we have believed the lie that you must act like the world, to gain the world. So in other words, we are using water to try and dam up a flood of people going to hell. It is as equal to a firefighter trying to stop a massive fire, but replacing the water hose with a flamethrower. Listen, we can not save dying men and women, with the dying mans ways! This simply will never work. You cant save a drunk by making the Church like a bar. And I am sad to say this very thing has come to America. We cant stop a flood with water. The only thing that is produced by that is two sets of people that think they are on their way to Heaven, while heading to a devils hell. There has always only been one answer for the lost and dying world, beloved. This answer, is for the Church to be filled with the Spirit.

Listen to what the Lord spoke into my spirit last night. In Acts chapter 3, we can read of two men on their way to the temple to pray. Keep in mind, chapter 2 is when the Church was established by the filling of the Holy Ghost. After Peter, preaching his first sermon through the Holy Ghost, brought over 3,000 souls to believing in this great Christ, we find him in chapter 3, on his way to a prayer meeting to be filled again. Now by this we must realize that, if Peter and John thought it necessary to be filled with this Holy Ghost, we must also. But it is no mere coincidence that the first miracle outside of the day of Pentecost was that of a lame man being healed.

Acts 3:1-8, “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”

Now God put this in my spirit so real, Peter and John was going to the temple to pray, and there had been a man that had laid in the doorway of the Church all of his life, but he was still a beggar, number 1. And number 2, he was still a lame man. Dear soul, do realize this is where the world is today. They come to our churches, only to walk out the same, and never truly born again. Why is this? God spoke to me, it is because we… are giving them pennies!! Hear me now, beloved. When Peter and John went to that temple, they carried within themselves nothing less that the power of God Almighty. Peter, when saying “look upon us,” was not at all saying see me do something in the flesh. No! He was saying, “hey, look here sinner friend, we have your answer.” When Peter said, “silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I unto you” he was in other words saying, “Sir, I don’t have what this world has. I didn’t come here to give you another penny! I refuse to reduce this gospel to what this whole “modern church” around you has made it. I didn’t come here to give you a feel good message! No! That would make this gospel just as everything else. Man I have come to bring you life!!! This Holy Ghost didn’t come to just help you make it through another day!! No Sir! We don’t come to give another penny, but to give you the Life Of God Almighty!!!!! So arise and walk!”

Beloved, if Peter and John would have tossed the man another penny, it would have been the same as making this truth of Christ equal with the world. You hear me now! For that mans whole life he had been given pennies, the church had no power, simply because they wasn’t filled with God Almighty! Yes this man lived a life, but at the end of the day he was still a beggar, and he was still lame. But when somebody came along that refused to toss another penny, and that was filled with this Holy Ghost, something happened!!! If I could preach I would preach this now!! Hallelujah!!! Listen! We must stop throwing this world pennies by trying to win them with their own ways! We must be filled with the Holy Ghost! This is the key! Amen!! Beloved, stop throwing pennies, and start being life!! And we will see this world changed! Be filled with this book of Acts Holy Ghost, and stop giving pennies!
