Victory

   Victory lies within every born again believer, it is just dormant if we do not except it. Is there a besetting sin in your life, beloved? Is there a trial that you cannot seem to posses victory over? Well, dear soul, I am here to simply tell you, if you are born again, whatever the trial, temptation, or besetting sin, there is victory within you.

   “Victory often seems so out of reach. Is there anyone that truly lives within the boundaries of such a deep spiritual word? If so, can we also obtain this? What does victory really even mean to a believer?”

   These very words I asked some of my close friends the other day, and to my surprise none of them gave me a response. So, I thought and prayed about the limits of this great word, and how the affects of it mean literally life or death. One must either be living in victory or else defeat. Either a winner, or a loser. In one of these two positions is the only place to stand at the end of the day. Either you are an over comer, or you're not. No loopholes. This is a huge thought! Now by what verse do I prove my previous statement with that, every born again believer has victory within them, weather it is used to the full advantage or not, you wonder? Upon many years of reading this verse, it finally hit me just this past week what it really means, and by this verse I will prove to you there is total victory within every born again believer, claimed or unclaimed it is still there. The great verse I speak of is this, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

   As I asked a great friend to give me a good verse this past week, this is the one in which she gave to my request. As I opened my bible, and began to read, I quickly went to my bible study tools to search this verse out deeper than I had in previous times. Although I had read this verse a great amount of times, it really never fully grasped my heart like it has lately.

   The writer of this verse, Paul, is literally saying to the Philippians, “I have strength for all things, in Christ who giveth me power.” What does he mean by this exactly? Beloved, he is literally saying that over every temptation… he has victory! In every trial, …he has victory! Every situation that could ever come his way, …he has victory! Paul was not at all saying that he had never fell short of victory. No! But he was saying, it was still obtainable, even though he missed the mark. Dear soul, this victory is produced by the literal infusion of Christ's life within us. We obtain this by Grace! You cannot be victorious on your own! Never will be able to! But He who we are born into when becoming born again, this blessed Christ Jesus, knows no defeat! By grace we yield ourselves over to His command, and He conquers through us. We have the access to be totally self-sufficient by yielding ourselves to Christ sufficiency. We have access to victory over every situation! But do realize, it is not you that brings victory, but Him who gives you power! Yield yourself, and even though you may be reading this right now while seemingly living in defeat, just praise God for the victory that is within you, and ask Him to yield you to it! As one Preacher in LA (Lower Alabama) always says while he is testifying, “PRAISE GOD FOR VICTORY!!!”

   Remember, and hold dear the precious words of this old song that has become one of my all time favorites these past two and a half years walking with this great Christ.

“O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.”

   1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Beloved, grasp victory! For He is within you! Don’t live your life in nothing less than blessed victory.
