Be Faithful
Many obstacles and hindrances will arise along the Christian pathway. There will be grief, trials and pain. But, unless you are playing with a willful sin and bringing these misfortunes upon yourself by leaguing up with the “old man” then you can understand that GOD has permitted you to be tested. It is a way of purification which brings a man or women closer to Himself and causes them to leave the world behind. Most of us understand this mildly but we never really understand the joy it truly is that God desires to bring us closer to Him. So, we murmur and mumble our way right back to the flesh, always pacifying the “self” we love so deeply. Beloved, we have all been there but we must at any cost cut the cord which draws us back to ourselves. If you are in one of these rough times today let me simply encourage you to be faithful. God has never failed you and He never will. Wait for Him to deliver you for He will come. Just do your best to fight in His strength even though you may not feel His Spirit within a hundred miles of you. You know what is right and just and simply be faithful to those things as God is faithful to you. God will destroy the whole Egyptian army just to save His imprisoned people. He would die all over again this very moment if that’s what it took to free you. Whatever the trial, whatever the test simply be faithful and YOU WILL SEE GOD!
The Wife’s Note: Hope For The Hopeless
I think we can all agree that when Paul and Silas were thrown in the prison they must have at sometime felt hopeless and not understood why they were in the situation they were in. They soon realized however that they were not alone God was with them. Sometimes throughout this journey I know we all feel alone or that there is not one ounce of hope to get us out of where we are. But, that is where we are wrong. The Lord is our HOPE! Even when it feels like he is a million miles away just Be Still and Know He Is God and he will show up just in time. There is no prison strong enough to contain His power. We serve an awesome God today and he is our only Hope! What a wonderful God we serve!
