Passive Possessors
Within the grasp of any true Born Again Christian’s life is the ability to obtain God in unbelievable measures. God has so freely given Himself to us in all facets but these gift’s are to be believed for. Believing, in my own simple definition, means to persistently possess by faith. Beloved, God has made Himself so apprehensible to those who simply dare enough to believe. If we ever truly desire to see God in this present life then we must move beyond our passivity and become persistent. The passive believer will never be a total possessor of the fullness of God. Whatever area in our spiritual life that is yielded to passivity is where the devil will setup his kingdom. I urge us to please rise in the Holy Spirit and possess what God has for us. I know not about you but as for me, I deeply desire to see revival burst through the earth once more. Only those who believe to the obtaining of God in such a manner can be the conduits in through which revival will come. We must be a possessing channel of believers broadcasting His Life in which He endues us with. We simply cannot be passive possessors for these are total opposites in this Kingdom. We must believe because all else less than believing is sin.
The Wife’s Note: Going the Extra Mile
Matthew 5: (38-41) “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.”
There is always somewhere in our walk with Christ that we could do better whether it is prayer, reading, etc... I know personally in my walk that I struggle to read. It is not because I don’t love him, I just have never been one to read. But once I begin to read the Word I do fine it is just that initial starting point of pushing past laziness. I believe however that God allows me to feel this way to see if I will Go the Extra Mile for Him. To see how much I really love him. To see if I will push everything else aside for him. You can never do too much for the Lord. You can never read too much, pray too much, or simply just spend time with him. Going the Extra Mile in your walk with Christ will only better your relationship with him and most of all you will come to know him more intimately. We all have imperfections but the Christ that is our salvation is Perfect! Don’t let laziness, fear, or trials keep you from going the extra mile for him. Christ went the extra mile for those who despised his name and did not like him. We as Christians(Christ-like) are supposed to do the same. Love those who hate you, resist those bad feelings towards others and push towards the higher mark. We as Christians all face this, but push past everything to do whatever you can for the Lord!
