Buds Breakdown Study Of Hebrews 12:5

Hebrews 12:5 (King James Version)

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him

(My View)

We are to always become more like Christ. We are to take upon us His full character and nature. Our Heavenly Father is always bringing us into deeper conviction and holiness, to make our life conform to the life of His Son, Christ. This is why it is essential for us to always bring our mind and body into deeper Holiness and understanding. For we are called to be the testimony of Christ, in our way of living, giving, dressing, acting and in everything we say and do. That’s why we must lay aside every weight and sin. For when we act or do something that is unlike Christ’ perfect holy nature, we not only hinder our fellowship with Him and the Father, but we make His testimony through our life weak and powerless. And it therefore not only could hurt the Church, but could also stop a sinner from coming to repentance! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE BE HOLY, AS HE HAS CALLED US TO BE!! In every way, we must live so that our life preaches Christ crucified… resurrected… and Holy Savior of the whole world.

Now were moving into where the writer is talking about how our Loving Heavenly Father is a corrector, for His love for us… and the better building of the kingdom through us. That through these corrections we may obtain pure holiness, without which no man shall see God.

(Keep This In Mind)

The chastening of the Father is the whole process of training up a child. Not only just the correction and punishment for wrongdoing, but also instruction and encouragement.

(The Breakdown)

Have you let the comforting words and actions completely slip from your mind and thoughts, that once you become born again, God the Father started talking (looking at you, treating you, and loving you) men and women both, as a son? (For once you become born again, Christ lives in you, therefore making your flesh dead, as God the Father looks into your life and sees not you any longer, but a mirror of His Holy Son, Christ Jesus!) My Son, don’t reject and turn a cold hand and a hard heart to the chastening and discipline of your Father. And don’t lose that tender heart that desires to walk in deeper perfect holy fellowship with the Savior (that desires to walk in perfect purity and holiness.) And don’t lose boldness and courage to resist opposition and hardship. And when you hear the rebuke and feel the chastening… don’t fall away and faint as a weak vessel.

(Last Thought)

We must strive to be found in His perfection and holiness. For although when we at our greatest, we will still never be as holy as Christ, we are always to press toward the mark with all our might. Even when we don’t feel like trying or we don’t understand how and where to move closer, God will teach us, even though it may sometimes be very painful… the fellowship with our Savior and Father is well worth the chastening. So hold on tight.
