Hebrews 12:7 (King James Version)
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
(My View)
We must press on. Through the blood, tears, extreme pain and fears. We must be found holding the cross… at all costs. When we fall… let us ask our Father for His help. For even if He punishes us for a season, we will come out more pure and Christ-like, as His Son.
So here we are still reading about the chastening of the Father. The writer is trying to make a greatly overlooked point… God does chasten us for our good, and the good of the kingdom. And for us to say Christians always go untouched and free from correction is absurd. He proves His point very well throughout these verses.
(Keep This In Mind)
The Greek term for education (paideia), is literally to express "discipline" or correction, as of a child by a wise father. The chastening from the Father is really a producing of a deep education of His Grace, Holiness and Righteousness, and a strong Faith in His word.
(The Breakdown)
When harsh chastening comes upon you, (whether it be physical or not) submit (give up all your self rights, your will, way, and wants) to Him fully, and endure (hold faith in His love, and confidence in His guidance) and realize God is in the very process of bringing Himself closer to you, as He is treating you as His Son. For what kind of Father would not correct (train up and lead the right way) His Son?
(Last Thought)
Don’t turn away from the rebuke of your Heavenly Father. He is in the process of bringing you into a very deep understanding of something that will change your life forever. He doesn’t call you to the deep to drown you… but to teach you to swim. Just keep paddling!!
