God So Loved

In the gospel of John we find one of the most quoted verses in the bible, John 3:16. Most reading this could quote it at lighting speed. But do we ever really pause to understand the total beauty of this great verse? Lets try to pray and better grasp the truth of it today.

For God so loved the world…
We was sinners, without salvation. We was hopeless, without a escape. We had no way to God. We was a creation, without the companionship of the Creator. There was no life in our souls. There was no love in our hearts. No forgiveness for our mistakes and sins. We had nothing!!!! But then… “God so loved the world,” came to our rescue! We had now found something gentiles had never before known… Grace!! We was wondering in the stench of our own flesh! God had no reason to have communion and fellowship with us. We was idolaters… but God so loved! We was fornicators… but God so loved. We was dirty, nasty, unholy, uncontrollable people, that would live worse than dogs… but God so loved. We was sick and selfish… but God so loved. We was senseless wonders, searching for pleasure, and longing to satisfy the appetites of our flesh… but God so loved. We was sinners, without a Savior… but God so loved. He didn’t have some half hearted kindness, but if you study John 3:16, you will soon find out that this love goes beyond all other. You see it goes beyond kindness! It moves beyond caring! It even moves beyond the love of a friend. This love is the highest form of love. It is undeserved love. It is unconditional love. It is un-comprehendible love! It is the Love of a holy, sinless, perfect, everlasting, all knowing Creator… for a unholy, sinful, rebellious Creation!! For God So Loved The World!! When He says “world” that takes in every ounce of life that is breathing. There is no prejudice of any kind in that word. For God So Loved The World, That He Gave. That word “gave” simply means… to be made a present and yielded over. For God So Loved The World, That He Gave His Only Begotten Son. He literally wrapped His only Son in the very grief of sin, as a present of freedom to us. For God So Loved The World, That He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Whosoever Believeth In Him Should Not Perish. He not only gave us the gift of Life… He gave us the power to believe. Before this we had nothing to believe in. We now must believe in, and on Christ, and trust Him fully with everything, and we wont perish. For God So Loved The World, That He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Whosoever Believeth In Him Should Not Perish, But Have Everlasting Life. In other words God is saying “its not what you deserve… but what I desire for you!” But it all began from something simple… God So Loved. Sometime today try to thank your Heavenly Father for loving us that much.
