What is He to you

Psalms 18:2-3, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

In verse 1 of Psalms chapter 18, we find the writer David saying to his God, “I will love thee, o Lord, my strength.” He is making a grand statement that he does, and will continue to love his God. Then rather swiftly he moves into who his God has been, and is to him. Lets look at verses 2-3, “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

David is saying here “Lord… I love you!! You are my absolute strength. Here is what you are to me in short Lord!! For I could never fully explain what you are to me! But you are more than I could ever ask for! And this is why I love you!”

As a son of the same God as David, I can stand up and declare my God is more than enough!! In every situation, He is my everything!! So I ask you today… what is He to you? Is He just simply God? Or is He your absolute everything?
