To You That's On The Mountain

Beloved, after all day yesterday in study, asking God what He would have me to write for this days reading, I finally felt this is where God had me stop. So allow me to set the foundation.

We often compare mountains, to great spiritual blessings. Or we call it “a high spot” in our spiritual life. It’s a time, that usually, after a long hard climb up, we finally come to a climax of the battle. Where we have finally won some struggle, and after coming through the difficult time, we see that, we’ve pressed, and have overcome the surrounding oppression and fiery darts of the enemy. It’s a time, where we often overlook the last battle that, by the Grace of God, we overcome. Often when we come here to this “mountain top time”, we have a season of rejoicing, and celebration with Christ. It is a time, where we feel so strong in Christ that, we feel we could whip all of hell with a water pistol and a rubber band gun. O, the great joy we have! How we love to overlook the valley we came through, and mock the defeated foes of hell that lie behind us. But, beloved, we must beware! For it is mostly in these times that, the devil comes back for a second round. He sees the Prevailing Christian, upon his spiritual high horse, and finds that while he is so busy taking in the mountaintop view, he is unaware his eyes are slightly slipping away from Christ, (the only true strength, and prevailing power of the Christian). Then he remounts his hellish troops, and while the victorious Christian is shouting the victory and becoming unaware of the danger he is in, he rides in, and very easily overtakes the shouting Christian. This is an often overlooked attack from the enemy. He may let you win some battles, just to get you shouting, and prideful in your fight. But, this is only to get you in a compromising position. To get your eyes on flesh, and off of Christ.

Beloved, the verse I give you today is this, 1 Corinthians 10:12, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” This is dealing with the exact example I have just given you in the previous paragraph. Paul is saying to the believers of the Corinthian Church, “to you that God has let overcome, be very careful! For in all the joy of overcoming, it is very easy to get your eyes off the one power that has made you an over comer. If you think you stand, give the Glory where it belongs, and yes praise for the victory, but don’t become so caught up in the victory shout, that you don’t see the enemy coming again. For he doesn’t care about your mountaintop view, he can go to any mountain you can, and trust me… he will soon be there, but it is up to you to be ready for him. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, let no other view blurry the view of Him. So to you that’s on the mountain, be thankful… but, be ready… he will come again.”
