Yesterday afternoon, while walking out of the sanctuary we are currently holding revival at, after having an afternoon prayer meeting, I was making my way back to the motor home, and these words dropped into my spirit. “Nobody wants to move to the frontlines anymore. We have taken the backseat Christian mentality that thinks we can flirt with the world, and still come to church, just as long as our conscience is appeased.”
Beloved, the sad fact of the matter is, these words are absolutely true. I wish to God I could have written these words, and had to dismiss them as classified falsehoods, but I simply cannot. An even sadder fact is this, the backseat Christian mentality has moved beyond those lay members in the back, and all the way to the Holy Platform, and right into the hearts of Pastors, Evangelists, and Leaders of the Church.
Why do we appease our hearts with simply being satisfied with coming to Church, and merely playing the part of a Christian? Beloved, …I take a deep breath as I write these next words, revival is the only answer the Church has. I as much as anyone realize what the price is for revival, and I will not lie, my flesh does not want to pay such a price. My flesh doesn’t want me to wrestle with God in prayer. My flesh doesn’t want me to fast for days and weeks, until He brings Life through me. No! and my flesh never will, because to do all of that literally is the very act of killing flesh, so of course it is not what my flesh wants. But the last time I checked, there was no flesh ever going to make it to Heaven, and if we are living by the flesh, then we are not going either. Folks, it’s just that simple. Programs will not bring revival. Church dinners will not bring revival. Only contending with God will produce true revival. Now, somebody must stand up, young and old alike, and fight this good fight of faith, and lay hold of God for this backslidden American Church. Somebody must earnestly contend for the faith that has once been delivered to the saints of the Book of Acts. (Lord, I don’t know if anyone is hearing me, but I proclaim this aloud, we must bring this lost Church back!!! O God, my heart screams, “LET ME BE A PART OF SUCH A GRAND BATTLE LORD GOD!! IF NOBODY ELSE DESIRES THIS, I DO!! I don’t desire this to be seen, but I desire this that I may be right in the middle of a Book of Acts Church in the twenty-first century.”) We must bring her back, beloved! We must bring this American Church back inline with the Book of Acts Church! Christ will not take away anything less than what He left behind in the first place. He will not rapture a Bride that is half dead, and is nothing more than a mere religious machine, that is backslidden, and a part of the backseat Christian mentality. No! He is coming back for what He left. He left a group of people in an upper room, that was waiting for a promise of being filled with the Holy Ghost. And we must return to that upper room now, and wait until we are filled again!! Because the American Church as a whole has lost the true Holy Ghost, and produced a false whim of the flesh falsely labeled the Holy Ghost. But it will not stand! It obviously doesn’t get the job done, because look at how the men and women was after they received the Holy Ghost. I dare somebody to just read the first ten chapters of the Book of Acts, and see if that Holy Ghost is still at work in America for the most part today. Beloved, it is lost. We have lost the breath of God somehow, somewhere along this way. He never changes, so the problem lies within us. We must return to the upper room, and kill this backseat, take it easy, appease the flesh, flirt with the world, mentality we have, and lay a hold of Acts Chapter two, Pentecost Revival again. This is our only hope. We must have Pentecost again, and this will put to death all backseat Christians, …and will produce Frontline Soldiers of the Cross again.

i think one of the reasons is because many preachers become popular and then with money they earn they use toward buildings and eating @ fancy places and things that don't neccessarily need to be done instead of doing the works of God, like feeding the homeless, missions trips, or even helping people who desperatley need it at the church, so instead of doing these things they use the money for THIER desires, not God's desires. And, then they get "fat" in their hearts and "forget" about the LORD.
Like all the stories in the old testament... what do u think ?
