A Citizen Of Heaven

Philippians 3:20, “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”

When I read this verse a few days ago, I was overjoyed with the thought of having my conversation being in Heaven. I very quickly thought of how that I love to talk about this Christ, that I am waiting to return for me. But, upon study, I found that this verse isn’t speaking of mere conversing of Heaven at all. It goes much further than that, beloved. It literally means this, “our citizenship is in Heaven. And to Heaven we always look, for Christ the Savior will return for us one day.”

Beloved, this is so great! Think for just a moment, we being on earth, have an Heavenly citizenship! This is such a powerful truth! This literally means, we shouldn’t let ourselves be governed by the fear of this earth. No matter how bad things look in the economy, this isn’t Home. Our Country isn’t at all affected by the circumstances of this world. No matter who is President, no matter who is in higher political offices, no matter if this earth completely crumbles (and it one day will)… this is not Home! We must comprehend this, beloved!! Why sin, by living in fear of this present world, when this is not even our Home? See, beloved, we are not to be in any fear of this present world. No matter how shaky things become around you, if you are Born Again… you are a Citizen of Heaven. So learn to rejoice, for you are soon to be Home!!
