Habitual Praise

Many times we get caught up in such a routine serving God that we forget to love Him. It isn’t that we don’t want to love Him, but that we just get so entangled with the motions of trying to be spiritual, we somehow let our hearts fall into the rut of habitual praise. We come to church and sing the songs, wave our arms with the purpose of praise in mind, but o how often we let praise become an action of routine. God desires our praise. He “inhabits the praise” meaning that He lives in our praise, and in true praise God is most definitely pleased.

We must not fall into the sinful act of habitual praise. Don’t claim to praise God in your actions if your heart is far away from Him. I know that I personally have many times fallen into the act of habitual praise. This must grieve the heart of God. How He desires that we praise Him out of true heart praise, bringing Him more than just hands raised, and eyes clouded with tears. He desires for our lives to praise Him in every aspect, but He does require those special times of just your heart being lifted to His. He demands true intimacy from each believer. This truly is the heart of worship. Let us please God today by stepping out of the bounds of habitual praise… into true deep intimate fellowship. Such a life is not only pleasing to God, but rewards the believer in enormous amounts. What better way to live a life, than to live one in true intimacy with Christ.

Prayer- Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask you to move me beyond habitual praise today. Allow me to enter into that true deep heart fellowship with you. I bring you more than hands raised; I bring you more than tears down my face… I bring you my heart, and lay it at your feet. Be pleased. I love you… amen.
