If You Will

In Mark 1:40, we have a story of a leper that came to Jesus asking for mercy. “And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.” Here in this passage of scripture we have a great example of “God Moving” faith. Faith that “moves mountains” is useless unless it moves and stirs God first. Here we see what we are to do anytime we come to the Lord with a deformity of flesh. Every time we fail, we must once again arise and come back to Jesus. We know it isn’t His will for us to live in nothing but perfection. Although perfection is nowadays not preached, it is still possible to reach the place of being fully furnished in God. And Christ commands that we come to reach that place, see Matthew 5:48. So I said that to remind us that we know it is Christ’s will for us to reach such a place. He desires to bring us nearer to Him, not to push us away when we fail. Christ never pushes you away when you fall, but it is the sin that separates you and Him. God is not looking to get rid of us, but He is searching for every way He can to keep us near Him. So we know it is His will for us to be made whole, but our daily prayer should be in like-mindedness with this leper’s prayer, “Jesus… if you will that I be further in your will, and if you will that my will be as your will, if it pleases you to bring me near,… if it be your will, Lord… make me perfectly whole in you. Bring me to this place of perfection, where I am fully furnished as a well maintained house. I will what you will, I desire what you desire, and I humbly ask… if you will… make me whole in you.”

Beloved, let this be the prayer of those desiring to near themselves to Christ this day. If you be not walking in this mature growth, and the fully furnished place of perfection Christ is speaking of in Matthew 5:48, then this should be your prayer. It is mine as well this day.
