Narrowing Our View

As I was speaking with a friend earlier yesterday, I began to share with her some of my thoughts on what must be for us to come closer to Christ. Many times, we being Christians, are criticized with not excepting other viewpoints of religion and other means of salvation outside of Christ, and are labeled as “narrow minded.” Well, dear friends, my word tells me that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through the Almighty Son of Jehovah, and His name is Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace. And He Himself says, “No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” So is that “narrow minded” to think that nobody else is going to Heaven except those that believe only on Jesus Christ as their Savior, and are born again? Sure it is. But it is still the only way. And have we forgotten that this is a “narrow way” that leads to eternal life? So yes, this Christian life is a very narrow way.

Today, I really don’t wish to deal with the narrow way to Heaven, but more so on narrowing our viewpoint from where we are now. As my friend and I spoke, these are the words (paraphrased) that I felt to say, and have been since pondering all day, “I must narrow my view closer into Christ. I must take my eyes off of all else and narrow my vision in all ways to seeing only Him.” Beloved, many times we think we must look at the big picture of life, but Christ never really asked us to do that. He only desires… and requires us to keep our view of Him. He doesn’t want us worried about the world around us; just looking at Him is what He wants. We get so caught up in looking at the things around us sometimes that, if we are not very cautious, we will take our view off of Christ and in the end lose Him. If we are too caught up looking at things more than Christ then we will not be caught up in the rapture of the Church. Beloved, let us move our focus from full screen, and pan in on Christ. Even if we already have Him in view, let’s use a microscopic view, instead of a telescope. Let us learn to look at nothing, but Him. When Christ is all that is in view all fear is expelled and life is lived in the fullest place of rest. I encourage you today, and discipline myself to bring my focus in more closely on Christ. Pray for me, and I will pray for you readers, that we may narrow our view onto Christ.
