That I May Know Him

The sincere cry of my heart over the course of the past week has become that of Philippians 3:10. Here we have the greatest picture of the deep heart cry of the Apostle Paul. He boldly declares the total search and goal of his life to simply be, “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.” I have begun to deeply study this over these last few days, and this has become my deepest prayer. Every thought and action that has come from me since the Lord laid this verse on my heart so strongly has been introduced with this verse. It is as if Christ is calling my life to a deeper knowledge of Him, and He is placing this at the forefront of my every desire, action and thought. When I sit down, when I stand up, after eating a meal, while talking on the phone, ministering from the platform, whenever and wherever, it seems this is my hearts cry “O Lord! That I may know you in this resurrection life! O that I may understand the fellowship of your sufferings in my take it easy life, being made conformable to your death. I just want to know you in all your fullness you have made available to me through the obtaining the Holy Spirit. Let me know you greater! Let my life die, that I may live in your resurrection life! Let me know you as Paul! Help me! I just want to know you in all points through the Holy Spirit!”

Beloved, let this mind be in you as well. This was the heart cry of probably one of the greatest men of the New Testament scriptures outside of our Lord Jesus Himself. If this was the cry of such a man as Paul, then let it be mine and yours as well. Let us move beyond our narrow knowledge of Christ and come “to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.”
