The Fire In The Bush

In the desert there he was, a stuttering man caring for his father-in-law’s sheep, when all of a sudden something gets his attention, a bush that is on fire but miraculously does not burn up. As he approaches nearer the scene the voice of Almighty God speaks “Moses, take off your shoes!”

Today I just want to present this well know biblical encounter in a New Testament context. The Fire is the Holy Ghost, Moses is the professing Church world captivated by the Fire of the bush, and the bush is you and I. Commentators tell us that for Moses to see a bush on fire in the desert wouldn’t be a great thing for him to be awed at, so we must realize that the reason Moses’ attention was so caught by the occasion is because the normal bush was on fire but still not burned up. Beloved, understand that the bush was just a normal bush, but God found it worthy to engulf with His Holy Fire. Our “God is consuming fire” but by His marvelous Grace we can stand as ministers of His Life in the midst of the Holy Ghost Fire and still not be consumed. This Fire in us burns out all our impurity, but in so doing produces through us a Light that cannot be hidden or conquered, and yet not totally consuming us! Here me now, when we become that simple vessel God can exhibit His Holy Life through, the professing Church world will be amazed at the Fire within us! They will be challenged to His Holiness and realize they are not fulfilling His Life! Even if they do not come to the right place with God… they will see and know there is a TRUE FIRE! God isn’t looking for the high and noble, but He is looking for someone that will say “Lord, I am no more than a humble bush. I don’t bring life in myself… but let the Holy Ghost Fire burn so the church in this desert time may see YOU ARE STILL ALIVE!! JUST BE THAT LIFE FIRE THROUGH ME!!”
