Be Strong Now

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10.

Anytime we see the term given “be strong” in the bible we can always be assured that it is no option, but a command. The Lord says, “Beloved… be strong now! Not tomorrow! Not next week, and not five minutes from now. No… be strong now.”

We always must understand when a command is given in the bible it is to be observed and obeyed in that time. God never gives us a command that He will not work through us, so we must understand that when He says something that is naturally impossible for us to truly perform, it is really Him just telling us to die to ourselves so He can make His Spirit be the answer through us. We see this here in the text given above, “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Do note that He doesn’t want it to be by our strength… but “in the power of His might.” Beloved, this strength is both a instantaneous and progressive strength. The more we die to flesh and come into union with Him the stronger He becomes in us. Don’t even give the devil pleasure of your self-gloating when receiving the command of God to “be strong.” No! Realize He only will call you to such places so that He may replace your miserable Godless flesh life with Himself. It is all about Him being Himself in, and through you. So take heart, no matter what trial you may in… and “be strong”… now.
