Ephesians 6:13, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Paul here is writing a direct military phrase. We must understand that we are soldiers of the cross. This is a word spoken by the great Apostle as a General of this great Army of God, let us truly hear what he is saying to us today. He again urges the necessity of the putting on the armor of God, but he also gives us specific battle directions. “When the evil day of battle is at its hottest against the Christ in you, seeking to put to death your Christian Life, you must remember that you are not clothed with yourself, but with the whole armor of God. When you press on, (for there is no other option, because to stop fighting is to backslide) and you overcome the enemy that is presently in front of you, just wait! Don’t get so busy shouting that you forget these words! Just wait! Because the enemy will come again, but with greater force and skill than before. Don’t get busy shouting the victory dance, no! Just stand, and wait! Encourage yourself in the Lord, let Him become stronger in you that your Life (who He is) may not be killed in the battle, for He (your Life) is only as strong as you allow Him to be. Yes, dear ones, don’t look away from the Lord to look at the mirror for your victory dance. Just stand and wait in the power of the armor of God.”
Beloved, there is a bigger battle coming, just stand and wait in His Greatness and win every battle through His Unfailing Life lived in you through the Spirit.
