Reasonable Service
Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Do we ever look at living a disciplined life as being a reasonable service? A reasonable service is something that really isn’t asking a lot of someone in comparison with what has been given to that person by the asker. We ask of God very liberally, but yet when He asks of us we feel like He has asked just too much from us. Beloved, Paul said that to live this life of continual sacrifice to God, which He demands, is no big deal. Don’t be expecting medals for your prayer life, it is a demand. Don’t be expecting any pat on the back from God because you read you bible for so many hours a day. This life of sacrifice to God is a demand and a reasonable service. Beloved, I don’t mean to sound harsh, but we always must deal strictly with that flesh, or it will once more consume us. Let us see that to be a Christian, to fellowship with God through praying and reading, to know Him… is the greatest honor of life. Let the words of the verse posted sink deep into our spirit. Let’s get it right… it is our reasonable call.
