A Word For The Flesh Fighter
As I was pondering on what to write about this morning these verses came to my heart. Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Beloved, are you trying to fight this flesh in yourself? The whole Christian life goal is to get our self out of the way of Christ so He may Glory Himself through us. But one cannot be saved very long and not find that this self is more powerful and controlling than we imagined. Some of you are trying to fight yourself by yourself. When self crucifies self religion is always a definite product, and religion will not ever be true Spirituality. When you really understand that you have no real strength in yourself, and that in fact you have little strength over yourself, you are coming to a edge of true Spirituality. Christ has always made it clear that we can never overcome anything without His Life working it through us. When we finally come to this place where we see we are totally impotent in ourselves, we then wonder what we are to do to find the rest in Christ the Bible so clearly speaks of. Beloved, the answer is simply this, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden…” Christ is speaking to the world, but also to those struggling in Spiritual matters. Flesh Fighter, in these three verses we find our total answer for Spiritual victory. Christ boldly says, “Stop trying to work these things out on your own! Just come unto me! You are laboring and becoming weary with the burden you cannot overcome by yourself! Just come unto me! Take my Life upon you and learn that your victory is produced by your Humility, Faith and Obedience, and my Life will cure all your ills naturally! Just come unto me! The method is simple, come unto me as the humble lamb that has no other secure chance to survive other than the Great Shepherd, casting yourself at my mercy and grace crying “if thou wilt, thou canst make me whole…” I will take your fight, and I will overcome through you, and you shall rest in my Life. Just humbly come unto me…”
