A Metaphor
“My how the sky is so beautiful today” I proclaim from my small point of view. “I love the wonderful works of my Maker! He has spoken all these awesome things into being by His Word, and yet He stoops down low enough to paint the colors on my satin petals. I am but a flower, small in stature and utterly impotent in the furious conditions of life, but He keeps me. He covers me with His Gracious Love supplying the strength for my stem to stay strong. As the sun rises each day clothing the earth with its warmth He sends me a gentle breeze in just the right times. The rain falls and almost seems to beat me down with its heavy drops, but my Father knows when I need no more. Many times I begin to feel discouraged, for I see the millions of wild flowers just like me and I loose sight of the importance of my existence. It is in these times that He reassures me that I am here because He loves me, and would give His life for me. My time on earth will be short for I am here today and gone tomorrow. I am a flower, quickly fading. My vibrant colors will turn dull and I will fade away, but my Life will always go on. Why? Because He keeps me.”
Beloved, you are but a flower, but just as He keeps every flower He ever made He will keep you, His Bride. This is a living relationship. Have you spent time with your Keeper today?
