Jesus, The Gardener

Many times I come to a place in my Spiritual walk where I feel as though I can boost myself somewhat speedier into the level of growth God desires for me. “I know He wants me at the next level of spiritual maturity” I many times say to my FiancĂ©e, “But, I just cannot reach that place in any way!” I have found that during these times of feeling as though I can reach some greater Spiritual plateau by my own working I am sorely on my back once again. You see, I have come to realize to a limited degree that this is not about my timing, nor is my Spiritual growth determined by my own working. I am beginning to understand that I am just as a garden. Christ made mankind from the earth and in us He plants Beautiful seeds which bear His Life. Just as flowers never make themselves grow, we can never make our Spiritual life greater by our own working. There is always a process to the growth of a healthy plant. A plant itself cannot know what is best for its growth and life, and neither can we in the Spiritual realm. The plant will slowly develop from the cultivating of the Gardener. Just as the Gardener must be patient with His plant, so the plant must be patient with His growth and care from the Gardener. Beloved, Jesus is the Gardener that tills and plants within us, mere clumps of earth, the seed of the Fruit of Life. He does not just expect us to grow into a huge beautiful plant overnight, but He works in us constantly, bringing us into His desired fruit. All He really asks us to do is simply trust and believe in His fine work of Gardening. One day in us many beautiful works of Grace will be blooming, bringing glory and honor to the Jesus, the Gardener.
