Jesus Loves Me but Do I Love Him
“Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so” is a song we mostly adore because our toddlers are just too cute while singing it. But there has been many times in my Christian walk when I would rehearse those words again in my spirit. At moments of rushing doubt and frustration and times of seemingly endless confusion I would began to lose sight of His love. I would read and seek Him to reveal Himself to me afresh and sometimes the words to this small song would come into my heart giving me fresh hope. I know beyond all shadow of doubt that Jesus loves me. I know not just because “the bible tells me so” but more so because I have experienced this great love within my own heart. But the thought I really would like to leave with you today is this; you can know the sweet love of Christ right now with limits only you yourself can make, but do you love Jesus enough to remove those limits? Do you love Him enough to remove the limit of doubt? Do you love Him enough to expel all fear of your future? Do you love Him enough to give Him your all? The real question of the hour is not if Jesus loves me, but do I love Jesus?
The Wife’s Note: Underestimating His Love
It is amazing sometimes how we underestimate Christ. We get in those hard places of life and automatically think he has left us, which he promised he would never do.
Friend, I do not think that you and I realize how much he really loves us. This is not some fairytale or just a crush. Christ is not some young boy or girl that says they love you and runs away when trouble comes in like a flood. He doesn’t leave you because your physical appearance changes. He does not walk away just because everyone else does. Christ’s love is not some petty love. Christ loves you enough that he died for you! I think we underestimate that love because we are not able to wrap our minds around a love so strong and faithful. His love is the one and only true love.
Christ LOVE’S you! I promise if you will push past your feelings you will see that right in the middle of what ever you may be facing Christ is in the center. You are not in the middle of the battle alone. He is right there with you.
