What are you loving & The Wife’s Note: On Hold

The following devotional thought was originally posted in December of 2009. I hope you enjoy reading the question we all need to ask “What are you loving”?

What are you loving & The Wife’s Note: On Hold

What are you loving
Psalms 18:1, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
This verse has become a favorite of mine over the past two and a half years of my life with the Lord. Sometimes I would find myself feeling alone, and where I didn’t think He was going to help me. I felt as if He had left me. Then I would look at my life closer, and I would see how that I had drifted from Him a little. It wasn’t that He left me at all. I was as a child walking with its natural father in a huge field of cotton candy… that his father hade made special for him. The child being so overjoyed with the gift he had gotten from his father, walked off a little to far from his fathers side. This is how it sometimes is with us in our spiritual walk with our Father. We get so in love with the blessings He has given us… that we get away from really loving Him, our total strength. So just take a moment today, beloved, and ask yourself, “am I loving my blessings more than my Father, the giver of those blessings?” I remind you today… what are you really loving?

The Wife’s Note: On Hold

Ring Ring Ring “Please wait until one of our costumer service representatives can take your call. We appreciate your service.” ten minutes later….. “We apologize for your wait. Please wait until one of our customer service representatives can take your call. We appreciate your service.” This goes on and on until we become impatient and hang up the phone.
I know you are probably wondering what my point of describing the situation above is and it is to simply explain to you what we do as Christians to our one and only savior.
We put time with our precious savior on hold. We put our prayer life on hold. We put off bible reading on hold. It is amazing how everything else seems to be more important when we know CHRIST is supposed to be first. Whether you are a procrastinator or just a busy bee it does not matter both can be wrong when you put your wants or plans before Christ.
Thank you Lord that you are not impatient like we are! We become impatient by being put on hold that we hang up the phone, but Christ keeps on waiting. Christ does not hang up the phone on us. He is patient and merciful and Thank the Lord for it! Where would we be without and savior such as this? Where would we be without a savior that gives second chances, a savior that never puts us on hold? Friend, I have done it. I have put my Lord and savior on hold I have.
It is time friend to start putting him first and I am not talking about just saying that we do I am talking about whole heartedly putting him first. No more putting him on hold because we are to busy or we procrastinate. He deserves nothing less than to be our first each and every day. So let us put him first above everything else and stop putting him our Lord and savior on hold.
