Buds Breakdown Study Of Hebrews 12:3

Hebrews 12:3 (King James Version)

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

(My View)

Our call as Christians is to be Christ-like. The last statement I made about 12:2 was “the Holy Son Of God looked at the shame and pain of the cross, and ignored it all and seen us.” Now think about this, we as Christians should take the example from our Savior, and although we see the trail in front of us, we must ignore the pain and shame and fix our eyes on Him.

To recap a little, let me remind you about the first 2 verses. So we remember that the first thing we must understand is, we represent the whole Church body of believers, so we have to lay all hindrances and every sin down. We must kill them, and by His power, never come back to them. And we must run, through His strength, and with patience, the course of our life, that is set before us. So He can use our life as a testimony of His Grace and Holiness. We also must remember to look away from all the things in this world, and all the things that take our focus off Christ, and steadily look to Him. For we understand that He is the Supreme Example of faith. And we are to be like Him. For He found joy in taking up the cross and dying for us that He may become the High Priest and the Offering for all sin. And now He sits at God the Fathers right hand, where when we fall short, He speaks on our behalf.

(Keep This In Mind)

The painful trials we all go through are as nothing, compared to what He went through.

(The Breakdown)

Now think about Christ, (consider His value and greatness) how He as Emmanuel, patiently endured and held holy strength, as the sinners that He loved and was dying for, contradicted His very being as the Son of God and spit in His face. Think about, (consider and look closely) at his trials and yours, (see who’s is greater) that you may become more like Him, and not become exhausted and relaxed in your present trial, and become unfocused and lose heart and become week in your mind. Slipping back to the shallow waters of your past.

(Last Thought)

When in deep trial of faith, let us compare ourselves with Christ trials. And let us remember that we at one time was those very sinners, that spit in His face and said in words with our unholy actions “you are not Gods son.” Let us, now that we believe, not lose heart and become unfocused, that we may not return back to those stiff hearted sinners, who crucify Him again with our unholy actions.
