Hebrews 12:14 (King James Version)
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord
(My View)
God is no casual God. He doesn’t stoop to our level of lazy worship. We must strive to meet His level. Yes He has given us Grace… but He will not let us use “Grace” to become lazy. This verse has slipped from most Christians thoughts in this day we live. Even my own a lot of times. We must realize no peace, no holiness… no God.
(Keep This In Mind)
This verse may sound harsh and rough, but this is for the building up of the church. And yes… sometimes it is harsh and rough.
(The Breakdown)
Now chase after peace to the best of your ability with all men, until you obtain it. And chase after to the best of your ability, holiness, (that is to be completely conformed into the express image of Christ in all points, and so consecrated or set apart that your life is conformed or molded into the total perfect will of God. Which is still be ye holy.) for if you don’t follow to the best of your ability these things, you are not pleasing to your Father, and you shall not see Him in this life nor spend eternity with Him. So consider it a matter of fact that you will never see Him without these things. For this is His demands.
(Last Thought)
Let us not become hard to the tough words of God written by the great writer of Hebrews. For he simply shot straight. As we must… to see our God.
