Buds Breakdown Study Of Hebrews 12:16

Hebrews 12:16 (King James Version)
Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright

(My View)

The writer is now moving into further correction given to the church. Still straight forward and to the point, to make things simple to understand for the religious “know it alls.”

(Keep This In Mind)

The Latin profanus , from which we have our word profane, is compounded of procul a fano , which is to say "far from the temple," properly an irreligious man.

Also look at all the things that Esau traded for one small pleasure. As the oldest He had the birthright this is some of the things that made it up. 1- a right to the priesthood. 2- a double portion of all the fathers possessions. 3- being made lord over all brethren.

(The Breakdown)

Now let us be careful so that there is no fellow soldier (or your very own self) that may become a fornicator (and turn the Grace of God into lust) or become a profane person (a soul that is Godless but still yet lurks around the temple, becoming a so called Christian without a Christ filled heart. One that has allowed the devil to trod them under his feet, and made completely unholy.) as Esau, who for one meal sold his complete future. And traded the very privilege of being near God. (trading the complete blessings of God… for a naught)

(Last Thought)

I pray for correction in my life to come from these verses. They are direct and simple, but filled with so much truth. We must not trade our birthright our Father has awaiting us!!!
