Maintenance Time

Beloved, this is a message, that is very neglected in the church today, and even in my own life. I don’t write this intending to chasten you, but I am in the process of being chastened by my Heavenly Father now, over this very topic. But I am thankful! For through this chastening, I know, that He is desiring to near Himself, more so, to me. So if you endure chastening also, just be thankful likewise.

Colossians 4:2, “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.” Dear Christian, it is time for our foolishness to stop. We must now walk the spiritual straight-line. In the verse I have just given, upon study, I found that it simply means, to, “maintain the spirit of prayer, and learn to keep your mind in a maintained spirit of thanksgiving.” In other words, “straighten up, and keep your prayer life in tiptop shape. Watch for opportunities to be thankful. Be on spiritual stand-by at all times. Keep your mind in a right frame, so that you can have a deeper, and more direct line to the Father.”

As Leonard Ravenhill says in one his books, “Why Revival Terries”, “A man is only as good as his prayer life.” Beloved, it is time. One cannot go through life as a Christian, without spending time with God. For to not pray is a sin. How do we except God to bless us, and to keep our way prosperous, when we don’t even take time to maintenance our prayer life? How can we set on the internet for hours, or watch hours of TV, all filled with gross perversion, while letting our prayer life go days, and weeks, without being maintained? How can we say we are thankful before men, while we never get on our knees and show God?

Old warrior, young person, it is maintenance time. Time to put away all toys of the world. Time to stand up, and kill the flesh. To neglect Christ, through our prayer life is a sin. Beloved, how much sin will move beyond those gates, on the day eternity begins for us? I believe no sin can enter in that land. How shall we escape? What will be our excuse then? “Lord, I am sorry, but I was so busy working for you” will not stand as a argument on that day. Maybe this excuse may come before His throne, “I didn’t know that prayer was that big of a deal.” Beloved, we simply have no excuse for lack of maintenance. We make excuse because of making provision for our family! Be very careful!! God may take your excuse away! If you love God, then pray. If you love flesh, more than spending time with God, then die a slow spiritual death. But realize now, while you still are not turned to a reprobate mind, it is maintenance time!!

A faithful Muslim, will pray 5 times a day. They pray before dawn, at noon, midday, dusk and at night. A sincere Jew, will pray 3 times a day. Those times being, dawn, noon and dusk. And 4 times on the Sabbath. A Hindu, will pray to their many unknown Gods, 2 times a day. Thus being dawn and dusk. A Buddhist will only pray when they feel they need it. Can you set a time to maintain your prayer life Christian? Are we really like the Buddhists’? Most of them are Atheists!! No wonder they don’t pray! They have no hope!! But we have the greatest hope ever know to man!! The only true God!! Have we really sank that low, beloved? Where we can easiest compare ourselves comfortably with Atheists’?!

Why are we Christians if we aren’t going to be like Christ. Even He awoke early to pray to His Father. I beg you! I reprove myself! Let us be, who He has called us to be!! Let us revisit the broken alter in our life. We have no other choice now, but to wake up and see… it’s maintenance time.
