Are you hungry for a move of God in your life? I am. I want to be closer to Him. I want Him to fill my spiritual belly to overflowing with His total presence. But how can this happen? How can we be greater filled?
Last night, while preparing for this daily message, I found this verse of scripture I had never read before. Its portrait is one that was painted to the children of Israel, and referring to their Egyptian bondage. But quickly, as I read the verse of promise, I realized, it is also a promise to all of Gods children. This verse being Psalms 81:10, “Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.”
As I thought about how much God loves us, to care for us enough to save us from hell, I also thought about how He so deeply desires that we be filled with Him. He longs for us to be happy, and prosperous in His spiritual provisions. It is so pleasing to Him, when we desire more spiritual meat of God. As we see in our text, He is more than ready to fill us. So the problem with being filled, isn’t that He wants to make it hard on us. No! He simply says, “I will fill your mouth. I will give you the food you desire (both spiritually and physically speaking). I will take care of your hunger pains. That is no issue with me. For I Am, that I Am! Your deepest hunger… I can fill with such a delicious helping of my Holy Presence. I am more than ready, and more than willing to feed you, my child. But you must take one small step before I can satisfy your hunger. You must let loose of your grip. You must stop putting your thoughts, plans, and ways of provision in your own care. Just trust me. And simply just… open your mouth.”
