Roll It On Him

Yesterday while going along my daily affairs, a wonderful friend told me of a verse in the bible I should read. But being at the moment busy, I forgot to read it until several hours later. As I looked up the great verse, here is what it said, Psalms 37:5, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

As I read, I decided I wanted to study the total meaning of this verse, and understand it deeper. And when I started studying, here is some of the blessed things, that by the help of the Holy Spirit, I come to understand.

The word commit, here means more than to be committed as in marriage. Although it could be used greatly in that sense also, here it literally means “to roll thy way upon the Lord.” Let us grasp hold of this, beloved. The psalmist is in essence saying, “let us roll our burdens off our backs, and onto God. For He is there!! He is wanting us to let Him take control of everything. He wants us to roll it all off, so He can take it upon Him, and bear it for us.” How amazing!! How wonderful to think that God Almighty, desires to bear all our burdens for us. He says to not only trust Him, but to roll it all on Him. One writer said it to be as a metaphor taken from the camel, as that camel will lay down, and wait for the load of the human, to be rolled upon his back. Think of this, beloved, God has stooped down, and said, “I Am Here for you. Take that burden that is weighing you down, and place it upon me. I Am stooped down to your level, that you may roll it upon me easier.”

Beloved, yes He has come down to bear your burden, but just as someone must roll the burden on the camel, we must roll our burdens on God. We must learn to give it totally to Him.

Now the end of the verse says, “and He shall bring it to pass.” This simply means, “He shall do it.” You say, “do what?” Let me tell you! He shall take care of you. He shall carry your burden for you! Through the desert places… He shall do it! Through the raging waters… He shall do it! Through the times of hunger and pain… He shall do it! Through times of uncertainty… He shall do it! Through it all… He shall do it!!! He shall do it! But you must first roll it all on Him.
