Seasonal Trusting

Today, most Christians never come to a full trust in Christ, as the book of Acts church had. We can read where they was cast in prison, but they still held a strong unshakable trust in God. Many times they was beaten for the sake of preaching the gospel, but they still held true to God. When they was being put to death, they still held trust in God. Through the Holy Ghost, and this lifestyle of unshakable trust in God, the Church was formed. Through shipwreck, through storms, through many dangers, they held close Gods word, and believed it with everything they had in them. It is a trust like this, that must be in the Church when Christ returns again to take us Home. A trust as this, is no seasonal trust, always moving with the weather, but a supernatural trust. It is a trust that is only produced by Christ totally living His life through an individual. A trust so deep, is only formed in someone, out of complete death to self.

But let me ask you this, you being a part of the Church, is this unshakable trust in God present in your life? Where you literally yield your next breath in His care, and say, “Lord, if you give me breath, I will still trust you. Or if you choose to take my breath, I will still trust you. Because I believe you know best, and my life it completely in your hands.”

As Job said in Job, chapter 13, verse 15, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” I heard a preacher paint this picture so well in my mind last year. He said, “what Job is saying in modern plain Texas English, is that if God walked up to me in physical form, and stuck a loaded 45. Caliber pistol between my eyes, before He would pull the trigger I would say, “Father, I love you… and I trust you.” that is what Job was saying here.”

Beloved, are you trusting God seasonally? Are you trusting Him only in your short good times, and when things get rough you take away your trust, and try your own plans again? Do you trust Him in the summer months of your spiritual life, when there is joy, and warmth, and everything is great and grand, only to start returning to your ways, and plans of battle in the cold winter times? Don’t be caught in the position of seasonal trusting. But trust at all times, even when death seems to be setting in upon you, just realize, death must come to you, so He can live through you. Seasonal trusting will not give you fulltime rewards, trust Him with your life. Literally.
