The Son In Us

Romans 8:29-35, and 37-39, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?... Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I was reading this passage earlier this week and the Lord showed me something that I have never seen before. I will make this direct and as short as possible, but God help me understand that the reason we have the ability to “know that all things work together for good to them that love God” and the reason we can rest in full assurance that nothing but ourselves can “separate us from the love of God” is all because of our being “as He is.” Paul isn’t just merely dealing with what we will go through in this Christian life and trying to boost our faith that we can make it. He is really dealing with our likeness with Christ. “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth?” This is dealing with Christ redemptive work for us and His living in us. No man can condemn God’s true people because Christ is the life they live. It is by realizing that God’s Son died that He may inhabit us we can also realize that it is God’s Son that works all and brings us through all. The reason we can rest in faith that nothing shall separate us from the Love of God is by realizing we are only going through the trial in body and our Life (Christ) has already went through every trial we will ever go through many years before we ever came to physical birth. He is what brings us through every trial! We in our flesh would go through tribulation and crumble as soon as the first battle begun but because we are born into Christ; it is Him that brings us through all things. Not just the power of Christ is what brings us through, but literally Christ’s life being lived through us. It is by this living His life I am fully “persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Christ is All… and He must be All in us. Let us understand this born again experience! Let us understand the greatness of the Son in us.
