With The Voice Of God

Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Looking into the New Testament scripture we see repeatedly where Christ would simply speak and whole situations would be turned into a “God-thing”. One of my favorite passages of seeing the Christ work is the story of Lazarus. There is no greater depiction of the Lord as being both fully God while yet still be fully man. John 11:35, “Jesus wept.” These words paints to me the most heart rendering portrait of Christ as the full God Man.

Hebrews 4:15, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities…” We must realize that it is by Christ being fully man that He is able to sympathize with us in our darkest times, for He has been where you are. But we must also realize that this same Christ that wept as a man by at the death of Lazarus, is also the God that is the Answer. It is by His being fully man that we can “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.

We come to the tomb of Lazarus and see that this Christ who is fully man, who can feel the pain of the human heart, is not just able to sympathize because He knows, but is also able to save because He is God.

John 11:43, “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.” Beloved, we see no greater picture of the true Divinity of Christ as being the man that is fully God, and God that took upon Himself His own creation being made fully man. Take heart today my brothers and sisters in the Lord, for He isn’t just another High Priest… but one that can feel our pain, and save us from it also. He has the lips of a man… and the voice of the one true God… this is Jesus Christ… our High Priest. He still speaks to situations and the are made whole. Just listen for the voice of the One that raised Lazarus to speak into your situation. Don’t ever feel as if He doesn’t understand you pain… remember He has been where we are, and He is devoted to bringing us where He is. Let Him speak to you today.
