It's His Love

Hebrews 12:5-8, “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”

There comes times, in throughout the Christian walk, where we accuse the devil of things that God has willed. Sometimes God allows chastening to come upon us, simply because He has to correct us, and make us greater into His image. Maybe you are going through some correction from the Father right now. If so, find comfort from these verses. Understand that, if He is correcting you… then you are His child. If He isn’t correcting you then you are an illegitimate child, so thank God for His correction. Realize that His judgment is His mercy. He has to correct us now, so we can spend forever with Him. So understand that His correction is His love for us, making us more like Him.
